Toyota announced the Alphard and Vellfire PHEV models on 20 December 2024, with Japanese sales starting 31 January 2025. Toyota states that the Alphard PHEV uses a large lithium-ion battery mounted under the centre floor, has a 73 km WLTC battery-driving range, and a maximum system output of 225 kW (306 PS).
Those numbers answer what the Japanese-market vehicle is. They do not answer whether a particular Australian buyer can import, register, insure or conveniently service a specific vehicle.
